Garlic BABY

Nine different varieties of garlic. So I bought a pound! Man do I love a farmers market. Cranbrook has a great one, we have attended twice now. Of course purchasing a fresh crepe both times. Smothered in maple butter, yum yum yum. Jaeger loves people watching and occasionally if we are brave enough, we let him run free. Unfortunately yesterday he became fixated on the generator powering the mini doughnut truck and he just couldn't let it go. So back in his stroller he went.
We crossed a bunch of stuff off of our Saturday shopping list like broccoli, carrots, onions, garlic, blueberries and grass fed beef. Here I am choosing my pound of garlic.

We do try and get him to look at the camera, but this kid is way to busy for shenanigans like picture taking. Everything is serious when your outdoors.

Don't these carrots have personality?...and why not photograph your lunch?

Deuces are Wild

Our little one is an outdoorsmen to the core. He will, on a daily basis, lay his body against our front door and scream. All he wants to do is get his little butt out the door. And when we come in with him, whether it's five minutes later or 45, you'll want to plug your ears.
The eve of these photos was particularly warm and what could be better for a diaper rash then some dry earth and fresh air. We sat on the patio watching him push the dirt around, pick dandelions and every so often, have a little tinkle.
Now peeing in the backyard is one thing, but number two is quite another. What you don't see in this next photo is what's coming out the back, we didn't see either until he turned around to run away. Unfortunately a little poop tail was following him.
(Nothing like a sturdy tree to brace yourself )

This was the first time he had relieved himself (in that way) outside. I was very happy to have witnessed such a funny event. Tim on the other hand was mortified and ran over quickly to "deal" with the situation inside. Never has a father ran so quickly for poop. Jaeger being true to his nature went in screaming bloody murder, naked and poopy. Gotta love summer.

Hot and Spicy

So as a part of our meal plan an obvious weekend choice would be homemade chicken strips and fries. This may seem simple, but alas, this is untrue. Each and every fry simply cannot touch each other. Similar to riding in the back seat with your siblings. No touching is tolerated. Ever since Tim and I have been married I have been in search of the best, crispiest yam fry recipe. Almost four years in I have finally found it. Better yet, not a drop of oil is required. So along with these fries I have made spicy mayo (one of the rewards of working for so many Cactus Clubs). This dip I had perfected long ago. Since Jaeger has such an adventurous palate, he of course got his own yam fries and a few tastes of our favorite spicy dip.
Normally I wouldn't consider myself a person who wouldn't post a blurry photo, but we had limited chances to snap this face. Despite his hilarious reaction he quite enjoyed the spiciness and was amused by his own response. Every time I glance at these I have a good chuckle.

He has always been a kid who loves a lot of flavor. Hope these made you laugh. Happy hump day.
Thanks for reading!

The Fort

On this beautiful long weekend we visited good old Fort Steele. It is a restored town from the gold rush era, I believe around 1890. They have turned it into a working little town and Jaeger loved seeing all the animals, running around the grass and being pushed in his stroller. We had a great lunch the three of us and really enjoyed walking around, reading all the history and watching Jaeger get rid of some energy!

He was so worn out, we weren't even out of the parking lot and he could barely keep his eyes open. He slept the whole way home and then went down for an extra long nap. We had a great day at Fort Steele and will definitely be going back for the fall festival in September.

Mister H. Neufeld

How cute is my nephew! He is already so good at Skype. Just had to do a quick post to show what a charming little fellow he is. I can't wait to smother his chubbiness with a thousand kisses!
